LDAT program updates

We’ve overhauled the Local Drug Action Team program. It’s the biggest LDAT update since we launched in 2017 and it’s in direct response to LDAT feedback. You told us you wanted simplified materials, less paperwork and a streamlined system – and we’ve done just that.

So, what’s changed?

New toolkits

LDATs told us that the toolkits needed to be simpler and more community friendly. We’ve also made them shorter and easier to read.

The evidence behind the approaches has been updated, and we’ve introduced simple icons to show you how easy or complex each activity is to implement and how strong the evidence base is for each.

Access the new toolkits through the digital CAP platform.

Your 13 new and improved toolkits:

  • Alcohol and Other Drug Education in Schools
  • Alcohol, Other Drugs and Older Adults
  • Alcohol, Other Drugs and Young Adults
  • Alcohol and Pregnancy
  • Community Action on Alcohol Availability
  • Community Engagement and Mobilisation
  • Creating Social Connection, Belonging and Purpose
  • Healthy Workplaces
  • Mentoring
  • Parenting
  • Peer Support
  • Pharmaceutical Drugs and Your Community
  • Providing Support for Teenagers.

AOD Lifecycle Planner

The popular AOD Lifecycle Planner has also been updated.

The Planner helps you to identify the life stages and issues you want to address with your community action and then shows you which new evidence-based toolkit to choose so you can design and develop the right activities for your audience.

Evaluation tools

And, we’ve launched two new tools to take the guesswork out of designing evaluation measures and to streamline the whole evaluation process:

  • Evaluation Measures Guide
  • Alternative Evaluation Methods

Online Community Action Plan platform

The new Community Action Plan (CAP) process streamlines the development, reporting and acquittal of your CAP.

It’s hosted online, making it easier for you and your ADF Relationship Manager to access and update. Your Relationship Manager will support you through the transition to the new process.
